After interviewing several very accomplished candidates for our Street Team Lead position, we are excited to announce Sara Shuman will be helping
to take over Street Team operations for the OrlandoBands.com
project. Our plans to help promote and spread the word about Central
Florida's talent are moving forward in 2011 and we look forward to
introducing some new features to the Street Team. Sara's experience
with live event production, promotions and drive to move the project
forward will aid OrlandoBands.com as well as all of the musicians, artists and industry professionals that support us. If you are interested in joining the OrlandoBands.com Street Team and taking advantage of the benefits, please let us know!

New Years Cleaning!

 We have recently spent time cleaning up the web link directories. Links that directed to invalid/bad URL's have been removed. You may want to
double check your weblink, or add it if you have not already. We
average 12.5 referrals a month to our free weblink directories! In an
effort to keep things organized, a new category has been added for the
Artist Directory called "Beyond Central Florida". If your band is based
roughly more than 1 hour away from Orlando, your link may have been
moved to this category. We have been seeing more weblink submissions
from out of state, and even the country.

Friday Jan. 14, 2011 Friday Night Blues Challenge @ Holly & Dolly's. Each week 4-5 musical groups will take the stage at Holly Dolly’s (500 SR 436, Casselberry, Florida) and play a 45
minute set of their best material. Based on audience response,
professionalism and entertainment value, one group will walk away with
a prize package worth over $400. This package will include $100 cash,
recording studio time, a video shoot, photo shoot and a promotional
press release. The style and genre of music will vary from week to week
based on demand and interest.

Thursday Jan. 13, 2011 Alive After 5 - We invite you to join us in beautiful downtown Sanford, Florida for the biggest monthly street party in Central Florida. We start the party at
five and it lasts until eight, always on the second Thursday of the
month. Thousands come out to the event to enjoy live music and savor the samples of food and beverage that are included in the $7.00 admission charge.  Live Music on the main stage. Congratulations to the winner of last month's AA5 $100 door prize!
