God's Little Lambs - More than just Day Care
... this West Orlando center offers a full enrichment program

 

From the name you can tell that "God's Little Lambs" is a faith based organization, but what you can't tell is how much time and effort owner Judith Shealey has put into developing enrichment programs for the little angels in her care... aged 6 weeks to 12 years old.

 

On the outside Gods Little Lambs may look like a typical day care or pre-school, but pull back the curtain and you'll instantly see the "wonder of Oz" that is reflected in the curriculum developed by Ms Judith.

 

A former nurse and supportive military wife, Ms Judith began her career in child development back in 1988.  Moving often as a globe trotting spouse and patriot, it was too much of a challenge to transfer nursing credentials to the various areas and countries Ms Judith found her family in ... from California, to Texas, Japan and Germany hence, the idea of a child care business was born.

 

Of course, going from the challenging environment of nursing to looking after little ones was certainly an easy transition.. perhaps too easy.  Ms Judith, is not someone to be satisfied unless she has a challenge to face so, of course, she felt a drive to offer MORE than the usual child care situation.

 

Over the years a winning curriculum has been developed by Ms Judith, one that prepares the little ones in her charge for their "graduation" into school.  While God's Little Lambs looks after children of varied ages, they do so combining age appropriate lessons and classes in art, reading, math, manners & citizenship, team work & sharing, and even language development - including foreign language (see more on class topics).  Spanish is taught for 30 minutes 3 times a week, and soon, so will French!

 

Because GLL's recognizes the challenges of working parents, they are open 24 hours per day, offering meals, snacks, and even after school pick ups.

Babies & Toddlers - WEE LEARN

4 & 5 yr olds - FREE VPK
Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten is a government funded, free learning program for children who have turned 4 before Sept 2012.  Because of the funding by the government, VPK is a secular program where no specific religious affiliation is covered. However, where GLL might have a "devotional" for those in the Christian based classes, VPK provides the same moral and guiding messages through "Circle Time" - a daily self inspirational group lesson.

 

For the little ones, God's Little Lamb's professionally equipped nursery provides a cheerful and nurturing environment where your child can thrive and grow.  All personnel have many years of experience and must demonstrate superior character, patience and compassion. You are trusting GLL with the most important little person in the world, and they do not take that lightly. Daily schedules include indoor and outdoor play, songs, stories and finger plays. Verbalization and socialization are cultivated and a “daily events” paper is filled out each day to keep you abreast of your child’s activities.

 

Except for the govt funded, secular free VPK class, basic Christian beliefs and values are taught through the use of bible stories and songs. God's Little Lamb's takes many opportunities throughout the day to praise and reinforce good moral choices, and also to communicate to the children that they are a special and precious gifts from God.
