Lakeside Inn Home to Business Builders Weekend.

Mount Dora – July, 2011 – The idyllic town of Mount Dora will be home to the “Connect to Success” business builders weekend on July 8^th and 9^th at the historic Lakeside Inn.
 

Co-hosted by the Lakeside Inn and two of the largest business networking organizations in the Central Florida area, the weekend offers a variety of events designed to help business owners and professionals promote their businesses, initiate and strengthen referral relationships, and learn about new marketing strategies and tools.
 

“We choose the Lakeside Inn because it was exactly the kind of ambience that we felt would work for this type of event, at this time of year. “ says Sue Copening, founder of the Connections Groups, one of the event hosts.
 

“The summer is traditional a slow time for many business here in Florida.  But that also means it is the perfect time to step back, and invest some time in building on two areas of your business that are the key to success… namely business relationships and marketing.”
 

Being a summer event, the hosts were looking for a venue that would provide an atmosphere of a “retreat” but be close enough to the Orlando area so folks could drive out for the day or stay the weekend.   The Lakeside Inn, with its Southern charm, its front porch rockers, and its beautiful lakeside setting was perfect.   Participants are encouraged to bring their families and spouses and make a fun weekend of it or just to come out for whichever event sparks their interest.
 

Friday night will kick off the event with a “Business Reception” from 6:30 to 10:00.  The reception is a a combination cocktail party and networking event, and an opportunity for folks to get to know the new owner of the Lakeside Inn… Jim Gunderson.  There will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres, everyone will enjoy their first cocktail “on the house” (all compliments of the Lakeside Inn), and sponsors of the event are encouraged to invite their own guests.
 

Saturday will feature multiple activities…  a free “Business Showcase” gives participants an opportunity to learn about a variety of companies from both the Orlando and Mount Dora area.  Most importantly participants will be able to network with fellow participants and the event sponsors.
 

Other scheduled events include free business workshops, a luncheon and photographic opportunities.
 

Winding up the event will be a Pool Party featuring live music.
 

Hosted by the ConnectionsGroups.com and ABC Business Connectors, Saturday’s workshops feature business and marketing strategies such as:  How to partner with other business owners to cut marketing costs in half, or  more.    Other topics include:  How to use social media and free internet tools to grow your customer base and make your phone ring,  plus tips on how to give your company a free “do it yourself” online makeover, saving thousands on a professional and dynamic web presence. 
 

A real bonus for attendees will be onsite photography.  One of the most important things for a businessperson to have today is a professional looking headshot.  Whether it’s used on business cards, brochures, or a web site, an updated headshot is a key ingredient in establishing a relationship with potential new customers.  After all, people prefer to do business with people, not “faceless businesses.”
 

To that end, professional photographer Brion Price will be on hand at the event snapping low cost headshots…  this is a great opportunity for business owners to save hundreds on this valuable marketing tool.
 

Wrapping up the event will be an afternoon party… poolside at the Lakeside Inn’s Tiki Bar.  Those with families are encouraged to bring them; the kids will enjoy swimming while their parents make even more business connections with other professionals in a relaxed setting.
