PROFILE: Karen Battoe, host of the new WDBO radio show “Career Advice Plus.”
We talked with Karen Battoe recently to congratulate her on her new radio show and ask her to fill us in on what’s been going on with her lately.

“Well, May was a great month for me. I achieved my dream… Launching my own radio show. When the announcement went out to my network, it generated a lot of emails and telephone calls. Some congratulating me and others questioning my decision.” Said Battoe.
“Everyone had the same questions… ‘Why?’ and ‘Why now?’ The why was easy… It was my dream and it was on my “Bucket List”. The ‘why now?’ was harder. Most of my family and friends said ‘I thought you were going to slow down and take it easy. You are working 6 days a week and have a full coaching practice. Why on earth would you give up a Saturday afternoon?’
Well, here is the “Why” for my radio show… I have been involved with the job market for over 3o years. I have been through three recessions, but I have never seen one that is as devastating as this one. My goal is to use the radio show to reach as many people as possible. To build their self confidence, be their sounding board and be their partner in achieving their career and life goals. This is a very difficult job market. We have more supply than demand. People are faced with a lot of rejection resulting in self-doubt.”
As you see, Career Advice Plus focuses on much more than just the job search process, though, it’s main thrust IS to help listeners in that quest and it's sponsored by "6 Figure Jobs." Karen C. Battoe is a Certified Professional Coach as well as President and Founder of Personal Success Systems, Inc., a corporate and individual coaching and consulting firm in Orlando, Florida.
Her clients are individuals who want to breakthrough barriers and clear the path, in effect, turning career stumbling blocks into stepping stones. Ms. Battoe specializes in working with managers and executives who are stuck, and want to learn a more creative approach to being successful in the job market and their career.
Karen is a recognized seminar facilitator, workshop leader and speaker and her programs include “Create Your Ideal Job in 90 Days” and the “Full Circle Makeover.” These programs have assisted individuals in pursuing their goals and working and living at optimum levels. Karen’s specialty is teaching candidates how to “stretch in their thinking and learning.”
Before founding Personal Success Systems, Ms. Battoe was an executive for several multinational corporations. As a former Sales/Marketing executive and consultant to Fortune 500 companies, Karen coached senior management and their teams on innovative business practices, managing change and career development. Additionally, she has owned a retained search firm, and been associated with the executive marketing / corporate outplacement industry for over 10 years.
Along with her coaching practice, has been regularly featured in major newspapers and has authored and collaborated on numerous articles and books. Ms. Battoe conducts nationwide public seminars and workshops on topics related to career management and leadership. She is a Founding Member of the IAC (International Association of Coaches) and served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
