With Florida ranking third in the nation for home foreclosures, United Way and WMFE are co-hosting a series of free forums with local experts to help Central Florida residents avoid foreclosure or navigate the process more effectively. Called "Facing the Mortgage Crisis," the presentations include a panel discussion and question and answer session with experts from:
Housing Counseling & Credit Agencies
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
Consumer Credit Counseling Service
Banking/lending industry
Legal services
Discussion topics will include:
How to avoid foreclosure and mortgage scams
Free programs, resources and tips to help homeowners
Best steps to take if you are in foreclosure
