About Dr. Harris:

Dr. Joshua Harris serves as the Director of the Dr. P. Phillips Institute for Research and Education in Real Estate at the University of Central Florida where he is responsible for directing research initiatives, industry outreach, and program development.

Additionally, Dr. Harris serves as a Managing Partner with the Lakemont Group, a boutique real estate and economic consultancy in Winter Park, FL, where he is responsible for executing complex consulting and asset management assignments for a select group of clients. Dr. Harris primary areas of expertise include multifamily real estate, structured finance, and private equity real estate vehicles.

Dr. Harris has experience in commercial real estate since 2002 as a real estate broker, acquisitions analyst for private equity firms, and investment banker. Dr. Harris is a specialist in analyzing real estate transactions, market analysis, financial modeling, and statistical forecasting. He has been an invited speaker and lecturer at conferences hosted by groups including the Society of Office and Industrial Realtors, NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association, Woman’s Council of Realtors, and Central Florida Realty Investors. Dr. Harris has also been a guest lecturer at the European Business School in Germany.

Dr. Harris has been awarded the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation signifying his knowledge and expertise in private equity, real estate, and hedge fund structures and investments and is currently a candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation having passed the Level 1 exam. Dr. Harris holds a Ph. D in finance from the University of Central Florida and conducts research in institutional international real estate and markets.
