Autistic / Handicapped Children of
Central FL - HOLIDAY PARTY 2010
For 37 years the AHC (Autistic Handicapped Children) of Central Florida arranges an annual Holiday Season Party for children with
autism and
varied cognitive abilities. Run completely by volunteers and funded by donations and Corporate Sponsors it features horseback rides, "meet the characters" (from local theme parks), supervised boat rides, bounce house, DJ & dancing, visits with Fireman and Police Officers, a fire TRUCK, a visit from the Sheriff's helicopter, LOTS of HUGS, lunch AND a present from Santa. All this at
NO cost to the attendees, the schools or their families.
ALL children with special needs are welcome to attend this party!
AHC was founded by the late Frank Kral, who wanted to provide these kids with their own special day. So Frank, his family and friends, started this holiday tradition. Now his son Andrew, his wife Debra, their friends and a core group of dedicated volunteers carry on this tradition in memory of his Father and in the spirit of the season.

Connections Groups
When Connections founder Sue Copening heard from AHC Volunteer Jennifer Martin about the Volunteer shortage, we blasted out a "call to arms." Connections Groups members are not only business professionals who are active in the business community... they are active in the community in general. Many came forward to help, rearranging work schedules at the last minute. Many took the time to forward the email along to THEIR "connections." Special "Thanks" to fellow non-profits... The Ronald McDonald House, New Hope for Kids, and The Center Orlando for getting a special "blast" out to their volunteers. AND a very SPECIAL "kudos" to Madell Khoury Shea of Keller Williams real estate for diving into the lake after one of the austic children who was SO enthusiastic about being on the water he forgot he couldn't swim. She sacrificed her hair AND her cell phone, to make sure his "mistake" didn't dampen his holiday spirit.
