Support Literacy in Schools

A great reader has the ability to foresee the results of an event before it reaches its finale. He has the ability to bridge the gap between information and imagination to form creative thinking. It is this type of thinking that will give our students the chance to excel in the Information Age. Parley Pioneers Inc is non profit organization that is the host of The Vocabulary Game. This game has been working within our local schools since 2004. The game develops memorization skills, lateral… Continue

Chain EMails and the Impact on your Business Success

Today I got one of many chain emails I receive daily in my inbox. Sometimes these chain emails are funny, sometimes inspiring, sometimes they are hoax emails that you really can't believe some fell for (and didn't bother checking on a hoax web site like Snopes), sometimes they are political or conspiracy rants leaning so far to the right or left they are in danger of throwing the earth off it's… Continue

Health Care: Appeals to fear, anger, and hate gain traction when ignorance is wide and deep.

By Sharon Begley | NEWSWEEK

Published Aug 15, 2009

If, this fall, proponents of health-care reform conduct a postmortem on how President Obama's signature issue went down to defeat—I'm not saying it will, but stick with me here—they will not be far off if they trace it to this summer's "great… Continue

90 Day Cash Challenge

Money and financial freedom have been and continue to be very hot topics for today’s families. Everywhere you look, magazine covers are screaming with stories about getting rich, building wealth, smart investing, saving yourself from the potential mortgage collapse, saving for retirement—on and on they go. We live in a world where the rich are getting richer and the middle class is slowly morphing into the “over-my-head-in-debt” class.

The reality is there has never been more… Continue

So you’re selling your business—ARE YOU “IN THE BOX?”

Last week I talked about the Selling Criteria or areas that can make your listing a lot more competitive, such as good financials, proper documentation (such as lease and franchise agreements), equipment lists and others. These are areas that brokers look into to determine how viable and competitive your listing is—the probability of success.

During my discussion last week, I purposely omitted two additional elements (c’mon, I don’t want to tell you all in one week!!): Price and Seller… Continue

Selling your Business and the power of Competition—THE SELLING CRITERIA.

More than ever before, the selling of your business has become extremely competitive. As a seller, in this market, you are competing with a greater volume of similar businesses for sale, buyers’ investment choices in this very tight and limited financing environment and, most importantly, the brokers’ time and involvement in your listing.

Here, I would like to focus on the latter—the brokers’ time and involvement in your listing. By the way, by “broker” I do not mean the person who… Continue

Buying a Business??--So you want to Buy a Business, Heh??

So you made the decision to buy a business. Now what?? Well, to begin with, I would recommend you get the services of a business broker to help you find the right business—it is FREE. Just like in the real estate market, brokers get paid a commission from the seller not the buyer AND, in most cases, the broker represents the transaction—where he is not an agent of either the seller or the buyer. Secondly, I would really give a lot of thought as to why I am buying a business. Do you need to or… Continue

Heath Care Wanted - Dead or alive

HEALTH CARE WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE

by Congressman Dennis Kucinich

The masquerade is over! The "public option" is ... dead.

Health care reform is now a private option: WHICH FOR-PROFIT INSURANCE COMPANY DO YOU WANT? You have to choose. And you have to pay. If you have a low income, under HR3200 government will subsidize the private insurance…

Health Care Reform, what IS all the Fuss About?

We NEED Health Care Reform... so why are folks so bitterly divided?

In order for change and innovation to take place we need open dialog and open-minded people to take part in that dialog. Every day I'm getting 10-12 emails forwarded about Health Care reform... few of them further any kind of debate or offer ideas, most of them are simply negative attacks, full of distortions and lies.

I think we can ALL agree that…

"Book Trailers" are short videos used to promote books. With video being hotter then ever on the web, more and more authors are choosing to have a book trailer created to promote their works. A book trailer can range from a series of photos with graphics to an actual short video teaser to intrigue potential readers. Think "mini-movie." Once created, book trailers can appear on sites that promote authors as well as posted on numerous video sharing websites.
