Some of my favorites songs of Bertie's didn't make it to the "hit" list. Like one I think was called "Fisherman" or "Sweet Fisherman" that I'm not sure was ever recorded at all... but was one Bertie used to do back when he and Wes King owned a little bar in Tarpon Springs called the Saloon.

Berties was in a group in his younger days called the Roemans. He went on to a great solo career and one of his fellow Roemans (Barry Oakley) went on to be a founding member of the Allman Brothers. Tommy Roe, leader of the Roemans... is known as the "father of bubblegum" and so I guess you can say that Bertie was in one of the first "boy bands."
