..."The Language of Color: A Latin American View"
April 29, 2011 – Neu America Art and Gallery 17-92 present a group exhibition featuring the art of Jorge Duque and others. The art will be exhibited in the space formerly known as Showcase Lighting at 900 S. Orlando Avenue in Winter Park. A reception will be held for the artists on April 29, 2011 from 6-10pm, and is free and open to the public.
The artists on display will be Jorge Duque, Pedro Brull, Fernando Molinares, Jaime Parra, Victor Quino,Ivaldo Robles, Wilson Romero and Erika Zalez.
Colombian artist Jorge Duque, a graduate of the Cali Institute, will add Orlando to his “growing world stage” in the words of art critic Pedro Manuel Rincon. Duque, known in Latin America for his hallucinatory tropical still life paintings, creates poignant sculptures of street performers, musicians, and fellow artists using the same bright colors and warmth that characterizes his paintings and drawings.
Neu America Art and Gallery 17-92 will host the art through May 27, 2011.
