Central Florida, USA: Rotary District 6980, consisting of five counties in Central Florida, is forming a new club. The proposed club will be an eClub conducting Rotary International Service Above Self via the Internet.
The current 49 clubs of District 6980 of Rotary International are contained in the Sumter, Lake, Seminole, Orange, and Osceola counties, but eClub membership will not be restricted to the area. Anyone in the world may join the proposed Rotary eClub of Florida.
eClub weekly times needs for meeting is a minimum of 30 minutes online in one fashion or another. In addition, Rotarians commit regular time to board or committee duties and service projects.
Rotary International clubs focus their efforts in six areas: promoting peace, preventing diseases, providing access to clean water and sanitation, enhancing maternal and child health, improving basic education and literacy, and helping communities develop (www.Rotary.Org www.RotaryDistrict6980.org).
