Oyster Bay wines are unique... for instance, the Chardonnay, rather than being all oak, or all stainless steel, is 50/50% ... perhaps this is why it's America's LEADING premium Chardonnay import! The oak brings out layers of flavor and a lemon creaminess, while the stainless steel allows the fruit to shine through giving it a "zesty citrus" quality that makes it the "perfect summer day chardonnay!"
The Marlboro region of New Zealand is now recognized at the number #1 area in the world for Sauvigon Blanc.. and Oyster Bay Sauvigon has been called by many critics ... "one of the best of Marlboro" ... also winning it numerous awards! The bright mineral quality of the Oyster Sauvigon is perfect with cheeses and, being a cold, maritime climate wine... of COURSE it's perfect with... seafood!
Marlboro is also recognized as being one of the top areas in the world for Pinot Noir. Called "one of the best representations of a Marlboro Pinot," Oyster Bay's Pinot is part stainless steel and part oak, with aging divided between a combination of old, and new, barrels. Extra attention is paid during the growing as well... vines are de-leafed to allow extra sunshine through, and harvested in small batches. When you taste the Oyster Bay Pinot Noir, you'll be amazed at the layers of flavor and the substantial nature of this wine, still with soft tannins and a classic smooth finish, but with a "beefyness" you don't generally find in a Pinot under $20.
