The Highwaymen are an important part of Florida's history AND a story of how the entrepreneurial spirit helped many young men (and one woman) rise above their circumstances and take control of their lives. You've seen "Highwaymen art" ...even if you aren't aware of it. If you are from a Florida family... dig through your families closets, look on the walls of your grandparents home and never, ever give away a painting without finding out of you own a piece of Florida history painted by a Highwayman. Paintings that sold by the side of the road for $10-$25 might now be worth thousands. Come and bring your children to the museum to meet the Highwaymen... their stories are as rich as the tradition of their art.
